Technology

Design and Industrial Graphics Skills

Design encourages creativity, innovation and practical problem-solving. Students explore product design and graphic communication, developing both technical skills and creative thinking. Through hands-on projects and real-world challenges, they learn to design with purpose, considering function, aesthetics and sustainability.

Materials and Technologies Specialisations (TMT)

Materials and Technologies Specialisations introduces students to the fundamentals of working with both wood and metal through hands-on, practical learning. Students develop skills in measuring, cutting, shaping and joining metal and wood, while gaining confidence in using tools and machinery safely. This subject lays a strong foundation for future studies in Engineering and Industrial Technologies.

Industrial Technology Skills

Industrial Technology Skills provides students with practical, hands-on experience in working with timber and related materials. Students develop skills in woodworking techniques, safe use of tools and machinery and an understanding of industry practices in the timber trade.  Through real-world projects, students build confidence, craftsmanship and problem-solving abilities, preparing them for future pathways and further training in the construction and carpentry industries.

Engineering Skills

Engineering Skills provides students with the fundamentals of the engineering and manufacturing industries.  Through hands-on projects, students focus on processes such as welding, fabrication and metal machining. The subject emphasizes safety, precision and problem-solving, helping students develop valuable trade skills and preparing them for further training and careers in the engineering and technical fields.

Digital Technologies

Digital Technologies helps students prepare for the future by allowing them to create solutions through code and STEM.

Food Technologies

In Food Technology subjects, students learn how to apply knowledge of the characteristics of food, along with nutrition principles to food selection and preparation through the design and preparation of food for specific purposes and consumers. They will also develop understandings of contemporary technology-related food issues such as 'convenience' foods, highly processed foods, food packaging and food transport.

Fashion Technologies

In Fashion Technology subjects' students explore fashion culture, technology and design processes. Students use their imaginations to create, innovate and express themselves and their ideas, and to design and produce design solutions in a range of fashion contexts.
