The Tully SHS Sunsmart Policy has been developed to ensure that all students and workers (ie teachers, staff and volunteers) of Tully State High School maintain a healthy UV exposure balance which minimises the risk of skin cancer with appropriate sun protection measures, yet ensures some daily sun exposure for vitamin D requirements.
The Department of Education and Training is committed to ensuring that all complaints are dealt with in a fair and equitable manner. There are processes and support networks to enable you and your child to work through any issues or concerns you may have.
Responsible Behaviour Plan
The Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students is the means by which we ensure that this supportive school environment is established and maintained.
Illness of students
A student who claims to be ill during a lesson should be referred to the sick bay by the Teacher. The General Policy is that parents will be contacted and asked to collect students rather than permit an extended stay in the Sick Room.
Students who have appointments and wish to leave the grounds must have their notes signed by a member of the Senior Administration, prior to leaving.
Students arriving at school after the roll has been marked must report to the office to have their names added to the rolls. If they do not do this, they will be marked absent for the whole day.
Mobile phone usage
Phones must be kept off and out of sight in the classroom. The steps for misuse are as follows:
